Lisette Lee of Beverly Hills , California was arrested at an Ohio airport after flying in on a private jet with 506 pounds of marijuana in her suitcases. Lee was taken into custody at the Port Columbus International Airport after her chartered jet landed with 13 bags of luggage.
The Drug Enforcement Administration in California gave a heads up to DEA officials in Ohio about a woman traveling with an unusual amount of baggage. When Lee landed, officials unloaded the bags and found hundreds of pounds of marijuana and cocaine, as well as suspected drug ledgers showing over $300,000 in transactions. Lee was also traveling with a body guard and several assistants.
She told the DEA that she had no idea the bags were filled with drugs and thought she was transporting farming equipment to her boyfriend's horse farm. She goes to further tell authorities that she was a heiress to the Samsung Empire, something the electronics company has denied. Lee was charged with conspiracy and possession of drugs with the intent to distribute. If she is convicted, she faces 40 years in jail and a $2 million fine
