The natural-resources jackpot was discovered by a Pentagon study, and it could fundamentally change Afghan's economy as well as the war itself. The enormous deposits are full of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and metals like lithium. This might lead to Afghanistan becoming a mining capital of the world.
