Carlos Tevez is going gaga over Y.Toure
MANCHESTER CITY could face trouble from Carlos Tevez with the Argentinian bemused by the club's decision to pay midfielder Yaya Toure a reported 200,000 pounds-a-week.
That's made Toure megabucks City's highest-paid player even though he often couldn't get a regular game at Barcelona.
Argentinian star Tevez is thought to be on 150,000 pounds-a-week 40,000 pounds behind Emmanuel Adebayor and now 50,000 pounds behind Toure.
The 26-year-old striker is understood to be unhappy he's fallen down the pay-scale, especially after scoring 29 goals in 40 appearances in his first season at Eastlands which saw him voted both Player's and Sponsor's Player of the Year.
Tevez is now a target for new Inter Milan boss Rafa Benitez who tried to sign him when he was Liverpool chief after he left Manchester United last summer.
City will resist any attempt to lure him to Italy but their decision to make Toure their top-paid player could backfire and they could face a big dilemma especially if Tevez demands pay parity with a player who has no Premier League experience.
But Toure has come out fighting over his mega salary and insisted: "I'll prove I'm worth every penny."
He says his main target in England is to boost his trophy collection not his bank balance and revealed the board have promised him they will not be offloading any of their other big names to pave the way for his arrival.
Toure, 27, also backtracked on comments suggesting he will be looking to return to Barca as soon as possible.
The 24million pounds Ivory Coast World Cup star said: "My decision to leave Barcelona was not about money, only about football.
"I will never speak about my salary but a player is paid very well based on excellent performances and my desire is to make a big impact at Manchester City.
"The directors at City have told me they will not be losing any of their big stars.
"I think Carlos Tevez will stick with us, and I also believe Robinho will return because he has such quality.
"My dream is to play at this club for many years now because I am tired of moving around."
Toure will team up with brother Kolo, the City captain
